Thanks for the videos.....however with EK02 installed (system/modem) and clockworkmod 5 installed...still dont have root (says Superuser). I tried installing EK02 (rooted)and my phone went to that screen that says I needed to Recover using KIES. I was able to get back to Ek02 with ClockWorkMod installed....now how do I root.....SAFELY????

Before we go crazy trying things, can you please load like you did and check if you have the superuser app. If not, go to the market and download and try opening it. I think you may have root but no app to control it.

If not, which kernel are you using with your setup?

This is the most likely option. I will definitely +1 this for now, but what root method did you use? Odin or CWM did you watch it to make sure it pushed everything you needed? Just coming in to this conversation now I would just like to make sure I have all the bases covered.

I tgried using SetCPU....it could not allow me to set cpu speed. Thats' how I know it's not rooted...I used EK02 with CMW5. I used Oden and got no errors..

Try using voltage control... if that doesnt work, just use tegrak :)

Thanks for the reply...however...goal is to have root with wifi tether working...don't think I have root yet.. . I used your EK02 rooted with CYM 5...its all a no go. Set CPU says no root!!

FLash it through cwm... no wipes necessary and you should have root access.

With Set CPU..I can only set to 1.2 ...not 1.5. And wifi tether does NOT work.....so I'm not sure if I'm still rooted or not....frustrated... highly!!!

is it allowing you to accept superuser without any issues? try to use an app like titanium backup and that will tell you in bold letters if it has found root on your device or not. sounds like you arent rooted. also have you tried to clear the cache after installing the file that qbking gave ya? could be some old cache stored up in there. also try to clear the cache for superuser as well through the settings/applications/superuser than try it again after that and see if wireless tether works.
