Hey, I have been trying to find information on how to actually build a rom from AOSP for my phone. (nexus s 4g) I am either not using the right search terms or there really isn't something out there. I know its not for anyone to just up and do. I do have a background in programming but never tried something like this and if anyone has something they found as helpful please let me know i would love to build roms. Currently reading your guy's guide to themes. Great read thus far.

Thanks

Check out source.android.com. great resource of info direct from the source...Google. I found this most helpful. There are many threads out there but I would personally start at the source. Www.android.com is another good place to check out too.

You have any luck man? I think the most difficult thing about it is waiting for the download to complete. The sdk takes a while as does setting up the jre and jdk. However in the end it is all worth it. There are a lot of tutorials out there but if you just follow what Google has posted there, you'll be on your way to making an AOSP rom in no time. Let us know how you do.

Yeah i got started on it last night but lost power so i didn't get everything. So tonight once i get home from work i plan on getting it started back up then looking over the tutorials. I am pumped about making the AOSP rom's as i feel its going to be fun. I have made a custom boot animation now and successfully applied it to my phone. was a bit of a pain at first as it didn't work but i figured out from an online tutorial i wasn't saving the zip correctly. I'll keep you guys posted and obviously ask question as they come up.

That sucks man, but that's the "learning curve". Keep it up the rewards are great
