HTC had a lot of issues with the 3D. It was mostly security issues. It may be something wrong. Did you flash a ROM that was a Sprint EVO 3D ROM or the GSM variant?

Its on Gingerbread. Where are you getting it from? sprint? Because Sprint and Samsung declared EOL awhile back...

Sprint blocked the WiFi Tether feature in Jelly Bean. Your best bet would be to keep a stock ICS ROM backed up so you can then flash that and use the WiFi Tether

Something built for 4.1 may not work on 4.1.2, my suggestion would be to get the dev and ask our wait for an update in the mod.
