Fre3Vo is live! EVO 3D ROOT available for download!

Temporary root exploit for the HTC EVO 3D and Sensation courtesy of TEAMWIN. ADB shell must be used to push this binary for root. Its only a start but were getting closer.

TEAMWIN announced yesterday they had found the exploit that will break our EVO 3Ds and HTC Sensations free and rooted, without the unlocked bootloader by HTC.

It will be a TEMPORARY Root. This means that using adb you can give yourself temp root until restart, and TEAMWIN is hard at work to get this to advance to be compatible with Titanium Backup, superuser, etc. Also, this way developers may be able to help push it along.

Here are the facts from agrabren from TEAMWIN himself:

1. Users will need adb to make this work.
2. It works on all known HTC EVO 3D versions, and has been verified on a current HTC Sensation.
3. It gives temporary root to adb shells. This is a stepping stone only.
4. We are hard at work for both s-off as well as the ability to use Superuser.apk and busybox

HOW TO ROOT credit to RootofallEVO

Prereqs:
1. You must be able to push files via adb to your device.
2. You must know what a shell is.

Instructions:
1. Download the fre3vo binary
2. Push the binary via 'adb push fre3vo /data/local/tmp'
3. Change the permissions via 'adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/fre3vo'
4. Run the binary via 'adb shell /data/local/tmp/fre3vo'
