Hi Wolf. Does the Autoinstall procedure still entail copying data/app into sdcard/autoinstall, or is it truly automated now? When I flashed 5.0.0 a few days ago I did not perform the former procedure, but my apps didn't install...?

Edit: I am going to guess the procedure is the same. I actually forgot to do that when I flashed 5.0.0...and then hoped when it said auto...I mean really auto :p...got a few minutes before flash so thought I would ask a stupid question :D

Edit II: Nope it says it's backing them up in the recovery script :D. Hope it works! I love that...why doesn't every ROM dev do that? It's uber cool.

Edit III: Well had a weird experience the first flash; SU would not recognize that I was rooted. Huh. So restored nandroid and tried again, but this time my apps didn't auto install, and that bummed me :(, so I am going to call it a night and try again tomorrow :). Probably something I am doing wrong I dunno.

StarDroid 5.0.0 no automation you have to manually copy the apks into the sdcard/autoinstall folder, in ELF it is totally automated script will backup your data/app folder and restore it for you (doesnt restore user data just the apps titanium backup is still the best bet for restoring settings and other app data.

and great to see you here, seems to have been a mass exodus from that other place

EDIT: are you flashing 3D or ELF? d#@n i cant keep things straight anymore maybe i did put automation in 5.0.0

Yea i thought so but couldnt remember for sure, Well i think i at the very least have the script portion of the 2.3.5 + Sense 3.0 install working, still having problems with a few widgets yet. it's a long weekend and no plans to do anything so maybe ill get time to seriously work on it.

The second flash I did not copy apps to sdcard/autoinstall....heh I kinda know had to do that just testing for some magic method :p....I think the first flash when I did do the autoinstall procedure...not sure but I have two busy boxes installed...so I can run some tweaker's RAM script that needs an older version of busybox to run....does seem to make the device behave better :p....maybe my device got confused with the two different versions and wouldn't recognize root....not sure...I'll give it another whirl in a few and do the autoinstall procedure again the correct way :D. Good to be here by the way.

I have 500 flashed successfully a few days ago. I need to get ELF to recognize my root so I can test this buggy thing :D Heee heee way cool. BTW I have been rolling Virtuous Apple's 2.35 since 2.33 beta, which is 2.3.4 base,...they are starting to tick me off with their attitude...but hey they do have a nice ROM...not sure how much of it is kang'd anymore though...but who am I to judge....
