Yah. I think you can just use Calkullin's rom and be fine. I actually never tested that rom by itself. I installed the Clockwork Mod after loading the rom so that I could have the Clockwork back and recovery. The Sprint Hotspot doesn't seem to work on the rom that they load. But the phone is rooted in that link for Calkullin's Rom, so my guess is you can just load titanium back up or something like it and be off to the races. But the rom from the Rogue team still is super snappy. I got 4000+ on my quadrant score. And outside of the Sprint native hotspot function not working, everything else seems to be cool. And you can disable CIQ and some other crap that I'm not sure is disabled in Calkullin's rom. If it is, then I think I might go back and try that one. If anyone can confirm that, I'd be grateful. QBKing77's review on it seemed to be promising. So 6 one way half a dozen another. But I agree, only nerds tend to take the longer road. Joy in learning. :) And just a reminder, I don't really think the first two steps are required. That was just my intro into this whole rooting thing w/ the Epic 4g Touch. I think that process is done by ODIN's one click, so for those who just want to have a wifi tether, I think Step # 4 is all you need to do and then use Sprint's Native Hotspot program. If anyone can confirm that, that would also be appreciated. That app is probably getting more development then the Android WiFi Tether. Then again, it is Sprint we are talking about. When did they get LTE?? But it is nice to know it can be done. And remember kiddies, backing up is important! :). But so is not getting too attached to stuff. Thanks again to all the folks that put this cool whizbang stuff out for geeks like me!!

rogue is a kernel not a rom so you dont confuse people and sprint has no lte but we use galaxy nexus settings for wifi and thats only on ics roms. ciq has been removed by samsung for awhile so thats not a worry anymore and almost every gb and ics rom out has hotspot working free.

Hey Darren,
Cool. Thanks for the clarification! :) Yah, I don't know then. Maybe preserving my settings rather than doing a full wipe caused it not to work. But yah, I went the native hotspot route first. But when that didn't work, I tried to get the wifi tether working. Actually, Sprint has up on there site that May they will be releasing their first LTE phone. The HTC EVO 4g LTE. At least I assume it's LTE w/ it being in the name and all. That would be some a-hole marketing if it is still WiMax. Here's a link for those that may be ready for an upgrade. It's pre-order in May. Not sure when the official date is.

FoxFi on Google Play Store works great on Epic 4G Touch Stock Without Root. Have been using for long time no problems here.
Good look...thx for the tip.:-)

No doubt. Great tip! Thanks Omar. And I did test w/ the new FD05 from Calkullin. This time I just did a clean install and sho 'nuff!! Sprint Wifi Tetherr was rockin' and rolling. No need for Android Tether. Haven't loaded clockwork mod back on to see if it has any negative impacts. But I'll have to remember some FoxFi in tha future.
