You, Sir, have eased my woes of the day. I spent the day trying to figure out how to return to an EG30 modem so that I could upgrade to EK02, but nothing worked. Every other recovery image took me to EG31, so I thought I'd give one last try to this newly posted stock .tar, and it worked. I've now been able to return to stock, root, then upgrade the modem to EK02 because even the Sprint OTA update wouldn't install from EG31.
So for those of you who are having trouble updating your modems to EK02 to eliminate the loss of service problem, use this .tar to take your phone back to stock, then either wait for the Sprint OTA update or use an update from another source.

You should totally rip that EG30 modem out and put it in your radios thread :D
Then I'll link my "oops I flashed stuff wrong" guide to it so people have access to all 4 radios.

This works great and its the best way to start fresh IMO. It's worth the extra time to restore data and reinstall your apps. After running the tar, I immediately rooted and did a Nandroid backup before I put my Google account or any apps on my phone. Now I have a backup of my phone the way it was when I took it out of the box.
