I'm sorry, this really is no way to release a rom, but I hope this makes a quick fix. I modified the original ek18 to fa19 zip to only use the modem part of the script. I have no idea why it fails in my script, but I updated to fa19 stock before applying 0.3 for myself I think. So here's a link to an update.zip where ONLY the modem is updated, then run the 0.3 RC zip. The script is in the older format and I can't test, so you have to mount system before running the fa19 modem zip. This can be done easily inside cwm. Here's the link, and I hope this lets everyone install the RC finally..

holyjoe722: If you change all references to the version to the latest on your phone model to the latest, it will stop. If you have sprint, open up a text editor and ctrl + f "ek18" without quotes and replace all with fa19, for boost mobile, the old version is ek03 and the newest is fb03.
EDIT: spintHTC: It should have been rooted, I had no issue. As for bluetooth, I found out recently too (I very rarely use it to stream music in my brother's car). I shouldn't have made any changes to bluetooth, so I'm not quite sure what happened, but that is why I labeled this as a release candidate.

I still want to know, is the 0.3 'update.zip' flashable on stock recovery? I'm running stock rooted EK, and it has the normal Android Recovery.

Just wandering.. my roommate has a Sprint Samsung Replenish and I think he wants me to load a custom ROM on his... I tried the links provided by Firehak and they seem to be dead now.. So, if anyone can please post me a valid link for the latest Phoenix ROMs and files needed to make this work... I am not new to flashing and rooting so just post what you have that worked for yours (Sprint) and I would appreciate it.
Thanks
First, KUDOS to the awesome work you have done! Thanks for turning a meager phone into something worthwhile.
Second, when 0.3 is "officially released", will it completely overwrite everything or will it just update (similar to an OTA update would from Sprint)?
Third, is there any way to increase the /data/data/ storage size? I've got stuff linked to my ext3 and stuff on my SD card, but neither seems to help much with the internal memory filling up. I've looked into moving the Dalvik cache to my ext3 but I can't seem to find anything that can do it on the Replenish. Any suggestions or thought?
V13Axel: No, a custom recovery (provided in the download) is required.
ironmask: I'm very sorry, I'll try to get it uploaded tonight. I fought with my web host and made a transfer, but I haven't been able to do anything but upload the placeholder.
holyjoe722: Thank you! If I can ever get the time (probably once my work contract runs out), the 0.3 release will be the same as 0.2. It will wipe everything because I cannot create patch files. Even if I could, it is much easier to provide the rom entirely to give a clean and fast running install. As for memory, that's another problem I solved and haven't had time to share. I partitioned my sd card and mount it as /data and now have 1gb of "internal" memory. No more "move app to sd" required.
How do you mount it as /data ? Everything I have read talks about moving your dalvik cache or your system files using an app. What am I missing? I'm so sick of 157mb with 14% or less free. For what memory costs, Samsung could have sprung for a little bigger mem chip.
(I would love to have 1 gb of "internal" too. I've got a 4gb card but I'm still saddled down with the tiny /data folder.)
Also - can anything be done to free up more system memory (swap file)? It seems like I get really slow quite often.
OK thanks Firehak.. I look forward to trying this ROM out... will I be able to Odin in CWM like your original post mentioned then flash it? Hope so.. I have tried rooting.. but I think the latest baseband version, etc. prevents me from doing this... so I think I need to Odin her in... anyways.. I wait patiently for your upload! :P
Edit: I didn't see the reply at first about the download links being broken... my bad

holyjoe722: While DMRLook was workign on a custom kernel, we found the mount points during boot. I looked up a quick tutorial on partitioning the sd card and recommended classes for the sd card read/write speed, and then just edited the file. On a personal note, I don't recommend going over 512MB for your /data partition (Results may differ with a high class card). I'm at ~420MB of /data after purposely never cleaning crap out and I've begun taking a HUGE performance cut and things lag a lot. I know plenty of other phones have that kind of internal storage easy, but our phones just weren't cut out for much more on a budget. I actually should have time today and was about to start working on 0.3 again.
ironmask: Sorry, but this will be another installer script, it's way smaller to distribute. Odin is only necessary to flash the initial CWM recovery image. If you already have CWM 5 installed there is no need for it.
As a note to everyone, I'm re-uploading 0.2 right now (finally, right?) after having to move hosts. This time I'll be hosting off-site like Goo.im or something. Maybe even figure out their rom update system.
EDIT: Check the first post for a new link. Goo.im has a much better speed than my old host, too. I think I'll have to keep using it for hosting my Android projects!

Thanks Firehak, about to take a stab at it right now... thanks for all your hardwork and dedication... so I take it you are still sporting the replenish? I'm still sporting a motorola droid og as well.. it still runs like a champ and it looks brand new still... i love it... :p
It may not seem like it, but I really am trying. It's been so long that there was a new Ubuntu release since I last worked.. When I un-paused my VM, it said it was April! :P I just dumped my current and am verifying it backed up 100% before I get started, but I'm going to get started again, finally. We may have to do an Odin release though for 0.3 because of the modem. I have no idea why I can't script the installer to run it, even seeing the installer for the Sprint OTA package. When I installed FA19, I had stock EK18 GB installed and then rooter/modded my way to 0.3 to be lazy and not write an installer for myself, and that ended up bad with everyone else. But, I may skip over it entirely for this release, I just want to get playing with the system apk's after a stable release is out. If anyone has seen Virtuous Ten Studio, it's like a Windows developers dream for Android! lol
I know it's been forever since anything has really happened, but I'm a one man team aside from DMRLook having volunteered so much time getting the kernel working before. But, excuses aside, I did promise it wouldn't die before a 0.3 release, and I'll get it there eventually for anyone who has to put up with this phone. It's been an entire year and I've yet to see anyone but Shabby and myself attempt anything for it (though, there were a few thieves on AndroidCentral who stole Shabby's work and didn't even remove his credit..). And, since I last checked, I have the only GB mod out so far, which I'd love to extend to actual apk mods as well. I kind of wish there were some other Replenish devs out there to have a small team on this.
