Linuxwell ok, how about backtrack 5? Any linux support? Some one should post a video up how to do a linux install and root. Thanks for the reply, hope next ones help solve the problem.

Rooting (again) after update to EE14
Any reason you can see why I consistenly can't re-root (I rooted then updated) after the EE14 update? The phone instantly reboots during the update, and then fails on reconnect.... Originally Posted by interdpth

Don't know what I am doing wrong, but I am defiantly doing something wrong hehe. Tried it based on the video. Removed SD Card, did adb reboot, ran the batch file on a 16bit win7 system, it eventually just says "I think it failed", and after a moment says it can not find the fail file and sits there with my cellphone locked up and needed a cold boot. Have tried it 4 times, same result. Just keep trying, or does the phone locking up mean something is fishy? Video was good, but would be nice if it also showed when it fails so you can see what it should look like when it fails and you just need to try again. And I have rooted my Nook Color, once with autonooter and this last time building a microSD by hand.

I also can't seem to root my device. I just bought the phone and I know that it was updated before I had a chance to root it. I tried on both win7 x32 and x64.
I get an "I think it failed" error,
then a daemon reboot
then "can't find data/.../fail.bin" (I think .bin, maybe something else).
Please let me know what I can do...

yea, the root and shabymod both run best when you reboot the phone and run the script

Thanks, was worried I wouldnt be able to root phone when I got it. FYI I updated phone after buying and later rooted with out any trouble besides having to restart phone to install root
